Short answer - YES.

The newly announced 620-2175 may be an answer. The configurator (at
least version 05.01.17 - Dec 04/1997) does not have the correct pricing
for the 2175 feature. In Canada they basically announced that the price
for the 620-2179 would be discounted by CDN$40,000 when ordered with the
2175 processor. If you have access to the configurator, check the base
price for a 620-2175 vs. a 620-2179. If they show the same, you will
need to check with IBM to find what the "discount" is for a 620-2175.

        Subject: Model 600 limitations

I've been doing my first proposal for a Model 600, and the
limitations
on the number of cards is terrible.

I would like a 600 with 4 comm lines, 2 twinax controllers, and
a IPCS.
        Can't do. Not enough slots.

I can't find an expansion unit anywhere. If I need 2 twinax
controllers, I can only get 2 comm lines, and 1 would be ECS.

If I go to a 620, my prices skyrocket to around $100,000.

The customer has an F20 now, CPW 11.6, the 600 would be perfect
at CPW
22.7, but the expansion capability is not there.

I've also config'd up a model 500, but that comes to approx
$60,000 for
21.4 CPW and he doesn't have the newest box.

Anyone else run into these problems?
