I clipped the following from an information week emailing. I am interested
because I think that if there was ever a deal likely to produce NT horror
stories, this is it.

_____

_______J.D. Edwards Wins Digital ERP Contract__________
J.D. Edwards, which is porting its products from the AS/400
to other platforms, has seen that effort bear fruit with a
multimillion dollar deal in which Digital Equipment will
deploy the software developer's Windows NT-based enterprise
resource planning suite.

Digital will use J.D. Edwards' OneWorld suite to streamline
logistic, distribution, and financial data throughout
Digital's Multivendor Customer Service division's operations
in 37 countries. The Distribution/Logistics Management
Internet-based software will let Digital manage inventory
anywhere in the supply chain through a single database that
will support its warehouses, distribution centers, worldwide
plants, and vendor-managed sites.

J.D. Edwards is "the stealth ERP vendor," says Josh
Greenbaum, an analyst with the Hurwitz Group. "OneWorld is a
very well-architected multiplatform system." The Denver-
based company is currently ranked fifth among ERP vendors,
according to Greenbaum. -- Jennifer Mateyaschuk

You have to ask yourself, "How often can I afford to be unexpectedly out of
business?"
Get an AS/400.
