Hello folks and greetings from Dick's Last Resort...

Well, you folks were right...Lou Dobbs wasn't that impressive. Spent most
of his speach talking about how great he was and how bad folks like
Reagan, Newt and Bush were...gave his prediction for the economy...nothing
that you've not heard in weekly reader... It was a short generic
talk...he could easily have remembered the quote of his former boss
(Turner) "lead, follow, or get out of the way" when refering to the
Republican congress's adjenda under Gingrich...and the lack of leadership
of his liberal friends that were in charge of congress for how long??

I also had the chance to have a quick meeting with him on the way from the
Marriott to the convention center...this guy doesn't seem to fully
understand the Y2K big picture for us or the third world...and yes, I
prefer 3rd world...frankly, they're going to be "developing" for
centuries, probably as many as they already HAVE been "developing".
Frankly, if it weren't for Newt, et al, we'ld probably not have a balanced
budget! The whole opening session was completed in under an hour...time
could have been better spent asleep.

More to follow...
