Yes, I believe most of the internals were converted to C++ in the
V3R1 timeframe.  Conversion to C++ and the additions of ILE, IFS,
embedded TCP/IP and ANYNET to OS/400 probably led to most of the
initial problems in V3R1 (that is a lot of big functionality to
add in one release).  I have heard thread support is being added
in the next release to support Java, Domino and other apps that
need real threads (UNIX apps); hopefully this is going well.
