Guy,

I'm not familiary with Obsydian, but I have been playing with ODBC 16
and 32 bit coexistence over anynet quite a lot lately. I'm guessing
you're using ODBC. The thunking layer is the EHN drivers from the old CA
with 4 stubs in the 32 bit CA product. I don't recall the 32 bit driver
name, but it doesn't begin with EHN, and it is in "Program
Files\IBM\Client Access", not CAWIN, so you should be able to tell what
you're really using by looking at the driver in your data source. If
you're successful in using the EHN driver, you're also using a 16 bit
client program. Maybe Obsydian is providing thunking down to 16 bit for
you and CA is thunking back up to 32 bit. This would be a configuration
issue in Obsydian. You should be able to configure your 32 bit data
source with the 32 bit ODBC administrator (ODBCAD32.EXE). Do not use the
16 bit program (ODBCADM.EXE) to configure it. You should be able to find
your data source in the registry under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBC.INI. If it is listed at all in
Windows\ODBC.INI, it should be in the [ODBC 32 bit Data Sources]
section. You might also want to install the latest 32 bit ODBC files.
They're available on the Microsoft web or ftp sites. The file name is
WX1350.EXE, or at least it was the last time I looked. If you have a
newer file on your PC, the install will warn you and recommend that you
keep the existing file.
