The issue goes even further.  Some people want to goto just the expo and
not the conference.  We have alot of conferences here in DC that have
decent expo's and frankly are worth the 1-2 hrs it takes to blitz through
them...and in alot of situations, I have no want or intent to got the
conference.  I'm talking things like FOSE, CSI, and there's a big client
server one in November...I'm going to the expo but have no intent of going
to the conference...and the expo is FREE.  Frankly, I don't have the time
to goto every conference that wanders down the pike...but I do like
wandering through the expo's to see the state of the art first hand...and
to ask my dumb questions to the folks that can give me decent answers...

Helps both me, my clients and the vendors...

Go figure... :)
