Don't know about any books, but the biggest differences between the S/38
and the AS/400 are (IMHO):

        - Command Keys:  THEY'RE DIFFERENT!  READ THE SCREEN!
        - Command Names: They're different.  WRK vs DSP, for example
        - Dot versus Slash:  LIB/FILE  vs  FILE.LIB
        - Options on the menus:  THEY'RE DIFFERENT!  READ THE SCREEN!

In addition, the AS/400 has lots of enhancements that don't work on its
predecessor, the S/38.
