 There is not much difference in the disk drives themselves, so the   
Escort to Infinity comparison is not dead on. The controller is different   
but not enough to make up the price difference. IBM needs to realize this   
before the loose more customers to the likes of EMC.

 You'll always pay more for DASD for large systems and that's the way of   
it. Instead of looking at the drive cost look at all you get from the   
system and the price is more than worth it.
