Just don't call us when you have problems. Ha ha. Couldn't resist.

I don't know anything about Gateway service, support and warranty options.
I just know IBM's. I couldn't do my job if I didn't have IBM on-site
service. I'd have to hire at least one more person. That to me is a big
savings.

I've been here at my current job 3 years now. The person before me was
buying IBM PCs but non-IBM monitors. I compared the extra cost of the IBM
vs. non-IBM monitors and then looked at the maintenance prices. IBM
maintenance was cheaper and would save us money in the long run and
justified buying IBM to the guys looking at the $$.

IBM to me has far supperior service and support which is worth a premium to
me. I would just fight tooth and nail with the VP.

Have you looked at all of the IBM model offerings? The new 300 series with
the built in network card looks like it's priced right.

What kind of support will you get from Gateway to setup your PC with its
network card and connect to the AS/400?

Good luck.
