Another reason is that spooling and re-starting a print job in process is
supported much better on the AS/400.

I'm not familiar with Win/NT spooling, but both 3.1 and 95 DELETE YOUR
SPOOL FILES IF YOU STOP THE PRINT WRITER!   Even the Macintosh knows
better!
