LAN Printing problem -- MIDRANGE-L

I am having a reoccurring problem when printing to my LAN attached
printers.  I am running TCP/IP over Ethernet to a few HP4 printers using
JetDirect cards.  Occassionally, when I send reports to print from my
AS/400, the just get stuck in SND mode and continuously print out till I
hold the file.  Has anyone seen this problem before or know of a
solution.  My users are getting frustrated with seeing 100 copies of a
report printing out.  Any help is appreciated.
