Actually, reading this again, why don't you just HLDJOBQ your S/36 job
queue before the 3rd party jobs are submitted, and as the last entry to
the job queue used by the AS/400 3rd party jobs,
do a SBMJOB CMD(RLSJOBQ xxxx)  to release the queue with the S/36 jobs.
