There are two issues.  First of all, the CUM tape contains PTFs for all IBM
licensed programs.  Unless you have many IBM licensed programs, little of
it will apply to your system.  (Exactly how much will pertain to your
system is, I think, impossible to calculate.)

Several of the releases will require that you PERM apply the LIC PTFs in
advance, which will free up some space.  Furthermore, the the applicayion
of this PTF tape will PERM apply some other PTFs.

All in all, if your disk space is this tight, it's probably time to execure
the SPENDMONEY command and buy some disk.
