Hmm. Well, I can say from experience that being able to see the source code
for
something, even if I have no intention of modifying it, has yielded
useful
information about how to get desired behavior out of it (or how to
instil
similar behavior into my own code). Happens a lot when I'm writing
Java client
code.

some time:
