Testing bit values

I'd like to pick up the info returned in MATMATR option x'0168'  - Panel
Status Request.

How do you test the value of an individual bit in MI?  Is there
a way in RPGLE ?

Please be gentle - I've only started the occasional piece of coding in MI
this year :-)
