Hello Phil, Validation lists are also a good candidate when it comes to password management. They allow you to store a user name, password and a descriptive text. V5R1 also brought a set of attributes that specifies creation date, password change date, number of invalid verifications, etc. Password encryption, storage and verification is handled by the system and is accessible through the validation list APIs as described here: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/pubs/html/as400/v5r1/ic2924/info/apis/sec6.htm Best regards, Carsten Flensburg ----- Original Message ----- From: "Phil" <sublime78ska@yahoo.com> To: <mi400@midrange.com> Sent: Sunday, March 17, 2002 1:25 AM Subject: RE: [MI400] MI a good use for encryption? > This is intriguing.
