fair enough; if you need it, you need it.
Good naming and liberal use of descriptive labels
may help too. Long experience shows that comments
are rarely updated to reflect changes in the code and
after a while the old comments become counterproductive.
Not the way it should be, just a fact of life. I know people
that given an old program to maintain first run it through
a filter to remove all comments. sigh.
