Hi Charley,

We just recently scrapped MAPICS' Cycle Count and I wrote our own.

MAPICS was too cumbersome to use, and you couldn't control how may parts
you counted per day.

Also, we had a problem when anyone did a PH transaction for an item in 1
location, MAPICS updated the Last PH Date in the ITEMBL file with the new
date, so we couldn't pick up that Item in any other location for the next
cycle count. I think the date of Last PH should be at the Item/Locn
level, not the Item/Whse.

I have ours set up to count a set amount of parts per day for each Cycle
Count Code. So every item will be counted at least once per year with
Cycle Counting.

Good Luck:-)

Thanx,

Nick

[MAPICS-L] Cycle Count...

XA R6

Howdy!

We are getting ready to re-implement our Cycle Count initiative. While
I have used CC programs in other systems, I have not personally run the
XA one. Before I pull out the IM User Guide and cure my insomnia, are
there any pearls of wisdom that you folks are willing to share that will
help me short-cut my reading as well as my testing?

Thanks!

Charley
