Both.  You can get to preferences for the BOM object by right clicking
on the BOM icon from the EPDM application card.  Or, from the BOM list,
goto the Customize menu and Preferences is the last option on the menu.
Same preferences no matter how you get to them.

Is this "PREFERENCES card file for the object" at the EPDM Card File
level or the one from within the First BOMs Detail Screen level, where
you see all parent items?  I am sorry, I am a raw rookie on these
terms/navigation/location of things...

drop-down for open action where you can select any display or maintain
action available for the object.
