If you can cost justify changing systems that include not just the hardware,
software and maintenance fees but also the retraining of your staff and the
extra time necessary to perform the conversion of data and or programs.
Then you owe it to your company to change.

If on the other hand you cannot, then you have justified the cost to stay
with MAPICS regardless of what the fees are.

You guys are seriously scaring me.  We are on a model 170 at V5R2 with
Mapics XAR4 and one year left on our software maintenance agreement.  If
we upgrade and go to a new i5 are we looking at a conversion fee in the
thousands?  We are a small shop with only 4 users, but were sold the
*nomax licensing over 10 years ago.

No doubt I should be looking at converting to another ERP system like
System 2000 (from VAI) if Infor quotes something outrageous like what I
have been reading.
