OK here we go again...

Once an affiliate walks in your door, that person is just another vendor. The
ultimate goal of an affiliate is to profit from you on the sale of the
package, or service or etc., not on how you use the product by understanding
your
overall business needs. ( AN AFFILIATE WANTS TO CHARGE YOU SO YOU CAN TELL HIM
YOUR BUSINESS NEEDS.) If you cannot get it to work after the affiliate leaves,
...bingo!!! more income on system education.

IMAGINE IF AN AFFILIATE HAD TO GUARANTEE A FINANCIAL RETURN ON YOU PURCHASES
OF EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE INWRITING .. say what?????

For those of us who have been through GMD - back to IBM - to - MARCAM back to
IBM now - to MAPICS, ...let us wake up!!!!

Remember all the "hotlines" we all had, and then a new DB, or XA or Level ???
was released??? As soon as any new product took hold financially enough for
IBM or the latest owner rights company, cut off old support, IBM left you
hanging,

I am not against affiliates, ( as I know none personally other that
meetings), but they have come and gone through various IBM associated companies
in the
last 20 years,

When dealing with a vendor:

        Rule number one:

Detail ALL your requirements in writing on the PO

        Rule number two

A contract for ALL above should be detailed

        Rule number three

Do not pay the invoice until # 1 & # 2 are complete

OK my MAPICS users, not MAPICS affiliates or MAPICS systems suppliers, ...let
us go with this thread
