Greg,

First of all I'm making the assumption that you are NOT using personalized
menus. On each application there is a screen id on the top left hand side -
e.g. AMBM00 (COM Main Menu). When I was a customer, we trained all our
personnel on how to change their default menu so when they signed into MAPICS
they would be defaulted to the screen they used the most. If they changed
positions within the company (accountant changed to a customer service rep),
they then knew how to change their default menu. There were very few people
that signed into the system and displayed the Main Menu so it was a non-issue.

Next assumption: You are using groups and adding your users to the groups.
Change the default menu to be the main menu for the application that groups go
to usually first. You only need to do this once by group and it can be
controlled by the IT department if you choose not to train your users.

Next assumption: Your users know how to navigate directly between applications
by using the command line - e.g. COM, IM, FCST, MRP, etc. If they know how to
navigate between the applications, they don't need to go back to the main menu.

I would strongly recommend NOT messing with the Main Menu options in any way.
The above gives you several solutions that will work well for your users
without disrupting them.

Sincerely,
Paola Groeber
