Mike,

I was told three years ago, while riding from the hotel to the airport from
the MAPICS Users Conference in Chicago, that the environment update doesn't
work - that you are further ahead to delete and recreate the environment.
The lady who told me (can't remember her name this morning) was a CAS
support person - I had spoken with her many times when I called the hot line
with a problem. That was on release 4, but I have not tried to update an
environment since. Just delete and then create...

Hope this helps - Joan

Subject: RE: Problems updating an environment

Has anybody else had issues with updating an environment? Every time I
attempt what should be a simple procedure it feels like I'm trying to push
water uphill! In our test system, we try to keep a fairly up-to-date copy
of both our Mapics production environment(XA R6) and a copy of our custom
libraries. When the environment update fails(as it usually does) I end
deleting and recreating the environment. Since I see nothing in the archive
section of Midrange, I'm assuming I'm simply missing something here. Thanks
for any help.
