Joan, Perhaps you should treat this as a pricing problem rather than a
costing problem. If you approach it this way there are at least two
solutions

1 - Have COM calculate the price from the standard cost and increase the
markup to reflect anticipated scrap.

2 - Put the anticipated scrap cost in an ITEMAS user field and then use
queries or COM exits to add this cost to the standard cost for pricing
purposes.

Both of these solutions give your pricing people the information that they
need to do their jobs without messing with the routings or BOM.
