Hello Mike,

I think there's a product called "Varsity Shipper" that does this, but we
wrote our own with minimal effort, and used the FREE add-on to COM called
the "Offline Shipping Enhancement" (I call it OFFSHIP).  We use dumb
terminals with CCD scanners attached - very low cost.  This eliminated
about 99% of our clerical data entry requirements in our shipping
department.

If you want more info, I can send you a short PowerPoint on it that I gave
last year at the MUC.

Does anyone know of a 3rd party product for MAPICS that uses a bar code
system which is directly attached to an AS/400 to record shipments to COM?
The products I know of require the use of a PC based data collection
system.
