re Applecare and non-Apple components.
I have had two services performed on my Mac Pro - both with non-apple
memory in place and there has never been a problem. In fact the
second one replaced the motherboard so they must have seen the memory!
If you have a problem that might be memory related - well I know folks
who were told that Apple wouldn't look at it - so they took it home
and bought it back with the original memory in place and got it fixed.
I've had more problems with getting a Thinkpad repaired after memory
upgrades than I have with the Mac.
