Just looked at startup.sh. Both the Tomcat 6 and Tomcat 7 versions end with:

exec "$PRGDIR"/"$EXECUTABLE" start "$@"

And thanks, Pete, but no, we're not trying to run 2 different versions of Tomcat concurrently on the same box.
