Happy Friday all!

I am just getting my feet wet in the wild world of PCI and encryption.

Does anyone know if i5 encryption APIs be used so that they are
compatible with encryption does with Java Security (JCE) classes? I am
especially interested in AES for PCI reasons.

This is what I am considering:

- generating 256byte AES keys with Java.

- Storing them in i5 objects (perhaps a user space) secured at
object level

- Write programs to retrieve keys which logs their use (keep
auditors happy)

- Java programs call key management programs when need keys for
encrypting and decrypting.

Java programs will be running on i5 and clients or peer system.

Tried some experiments, so far so good.

Next I was thinking could the i5 encryption APIs use the AES keys and be
compatible with the Java encrypting / decrypting

i5 APIs decrypt data encrypted by Java

Java decrypt data encrypted by i5 APIs.

Does anyone have any experience trying? Can anyone point me to any
publications or web sites they found useful in dealing with i5
encryption APIs.

Thanks everyone

Hope all have a good weekend.
