Are you absolutely certain that Java 1.6 is properly installed on the i? The Java command fails silently for me in many cases, one of them being that a given java version is not available.

There is a default class put in with the Java installation which can be used to test with.

Can you run (if PropDump does not work, try with DumpProp)

java PropDump

java -Djava.version=1.6 PropDump

?

You should see a list of java properties listed to the console in both cases. And yes, we are running RMI on the i :)
