Joe,

That's for your response to my question.

If I could field another question from you, for a iSeries Java newbie
what other titles, or resources could you recommend?

Thanks again,
Erick

    Hi Erick,

If I'm not mistaken, WebSphere 6.1, released in May, is the latest
version. It supports JDK 1.5, but is still at J2EE 1.4. EJB 3.0 is a
JEE
1.5 capability. You may be able to find something with JPA ( Java
Persistence API which underlies entity beans for 3.0 ) but that's
probably
about the best you can do, currently.

Subject: Redbook Updates for EJB 3.0

Does anyone know if there will be an update to the System I Redbook
named, "EJB 2.0 Development with Websphere Studio Application
Developer"
, for EJB 3.0? I don't see an update on the IBM Redbook website. Also,
any other useful information on EJB 3.0 for Rational Developer and the
iSeries would be appreciated.

Thanks.
