The reason I ask is that I suspect the orb.properties file located in
/QIBM/ProdData/Java400/jdk13/lib  is the one shipped for WebSphere.  If you
are not using WebSphere Application Server 4.0 on your system, I think you
could rename (or delete) the orb.properties file and be good to go.

Do you have WebSphere Application Server 4.0 installed on your system?
5733WA4 or 5733WS4 are the product IDs?  If so are you actually using the
product?

further info:

I do not find the class com.ibm.rmi.javax.rmi.CORBA.Util on the AS/400.

On WSAD it is in rt.jar
