Hi Glenn,
Check out the following site at IBM about how to
create a stored procedure on the iSeries (you might
need to cut and paste this in pieces):

http://www-1.ibm.com/servers/eserver/iseries/db2/stprocex.htm

The two ways I use to create stored proc are:

1. RUNSQLSTM from a command line
You'll need to specify the source file where the
SQL script is located; don't exceed 80 characters in
the SRCDTA field of the source member because the SQL
pre-compiler doesn't parse out past the 80th
character.

2. Use the editor in Ops Navigator.

Either way is fine, but you will need the ILE/C
compiler installed to do it, because a stored
procedure (as implemented on OS/400) is a compiled
ILE/C program with embedded SQL. Once compiled, of
course, the *PGM object can be moved to any system
that will support it's release level.

I use a couple of different languages and database
platforms (DB2/400 MS-SQL 2000 mostly), so I see a
great deal of value in using ANSI standard SQL so that
your SQL is runnable on any platform that supports
(and is configured to use) ANSI SQL. Best of luck.
