hi everyone,

i'm quite new too java and just started using java on/with the as/400. i'm
trying to get the DDS of a physical file. i need the structure of the physical
file in strings.

here is some of my code. i hope it is of some help so you could help me.

AS400 as400 = new AS400("MyAS400");
String lib = "SomeLibary";
String file="SomeFile";

String objectpath = "/QSYS.LIB/" + lib + ".LIB/" + file + ".FILE";
AS400FileRecordDescription dds = new AS400FileRecordDescription(as400,
objectpath);
RecordFormat[] recordformat = dds.retrieveRecordFormat();

String someVariable dds.getDDSName();
String someVariable dds.getFieldName();

sorry, forget the problem:
the problem is, i'm getting an "IOException: Connection Refused" when i try to
do the retrieveRecordFormat() statement.
i don't know where to start looking for.
i'm glad for ANY help.

thanx

mk
