I'm doing the same thing, so clearly I think it's a good scheme.  Seriously
though, having our production AS400s be not visible from the Internet has
certain advantages.

 Consider this:
I run servlet on my web server (a PC, NT, or an as400). The servlets use
toolbox JDBC driver to access database box (another AS400 which has a
firewall).
Is this a good scheme?
