I've had similar problems with deploying applets.  Here's problems I've
found:

Make sure the properties page for the applications specifies "no inner
classes".

Make sure the server the jar file is coming from is on the same server as
the html page.  I.e. if your html is on www.foo.com you'll have problems
executing a class from a jar file on www.myfoo.com.

If that doesn't help, try turning on debug level 9 in the java console in
Netscape Navigator.  The messages will usually give you enough info to
pin-point the problem.
