Title: Servlets and Websphere
ClassFormatError "signals an error in the binary format of a class file".
I am guessing the problem is somehow related to the class file being corrupted when you transfer it from the PC to the AS/400. How are you going about doing that? Maybe there is an translation going on or something. It should work ok if you mount a drive on the PC to the AS/400s IFS and drag and drop the class file, or FTP it in binary mode. Have you tried to the sample servlets such as snoop just to be sure they are working?

Subject: Servlets and Websphere

Hi,
I have developed some servlets using Visualage and tried to load them on to the websphere. I copied the class files in to the AS/400 servlets directory. When I tried to execute the URL http://myserver/servlet/filename, I am getting the following error. Can anyone tell me why am I getting this error and how to overcome this problem...

I am running the servlets on our V4R4 m/c having Websphere 2.0 loaded on it. I developed the servlets in visualage 2.0.

Thanks and regards,
Gururaj
