I have seven Short name/UserID: entries. rob at dek... dot com is one.
The other six have different names prior to the at sign which I use for
special purposes, like my ebay account.
Our shop standard is that new people have their short name equal to their
windows id followed by @ourdomain.com. We are using Tivoli Identity
Manager to automatically enroll the users into Notes (if they are getting
a Notes account) and it takes care of following our shop standards.
Everyone, including the CEO, follows this standard. And it's usually
first initial and the first 7 characters of their last name. Duplicates
are checked prior to creation and handled creatively.
