Aha! There it is! Thanks, Rob.

And best of all, I can see that it's growing slowly enough that I don't
have to worry about it until after the day is done -- I was a little
concerned that it might fill the disk. But only a little.

Thanks again,
Patrick

Re: Debug_Outfile on iSeries?

One of my servers as:
....+....1....+....2..
debug_outfile=hang.txt

And I find that file in the IBM_TECHNICAL_SUPPORT directory underneath the

data directory.

Re: Debug_Outfile on iSeries?

Walter, thanks for all your help so far, but I'm still missing something.
Does the file have to exist in advance? I modified the Notes.INI to
include "debug_outfile=logfile.txt" (no quotes around the file name in the

INI entry, per your example earlier and an Iris article I found). I
restarted the server an hour ago, but I don't see any sign of a
logfile.txt in the Data directory of the iSeries.

no,
to disable you need to restart with the parm removed.

Re: Debug_Outfile on iSeries?

Hmm... I'll try again. I tried it with both the drive designation (I was

sure it was wrong, but wasn't getting any responses) and without, but I
don't see the file. That's why I thought I needed to restart something.
When I want to stop writing to that file, do I call the config with a
blank for the filename? Like [set config debug_outfile=""]?

Thanks,
Patrick
