iSeries Navigator
File Systems
Then Right Click on Integrated File Systems itself - do not expand it.
Select Properties. On the text tab do you see an opportunity for
automatic file conversion?

You know how ftp defaults to ascii and you have to change it to binary for
certain files? I believe that the Integrated File System is vice versa.
Closest explanation I could find.

Subject
web logs readable on iSeries not on PC

Hello all,

6.5 on iSeries v5r2

I can read my web logs on the green screen using wrklnk then drilling down

to each file and displaying using a 5 -- data displays fine.

I'm trying to open up the same files in a PC program such as Excel for now

and eventually some web log analyzer, but the data is not readable.

I've tried mapping a drive to a share on the IFS and opening via Notepad,
Excel, Wordpad, etc... I've tried copying and pasting the file using
OpsNav from the IFS to my PC with the same result. What else should I try

???

I've seen some references on the IBM Lotus tech support site about the
CCSID of the file but they're all 37 which I believe is as it should be.

Thanks in advance,
Bob
