Mark,
The Mail Domain of the Domino server is defined by one on of 2
documents. If you create an MTAGlobal Foreign domain Document the mail
domain for the server is defined by the field Local Primary Internet
Domain. If no MTAGlobal document exists the Domain is defined by the field
Fully Qualified Local Host Name defined in the Server Document. By
default, this is the full AS/400 system name (serialnumber.domain.com).
This document can be altered to include just the domain (domain.com).
The name of the domino server does not need be part of the SMTP domain
of the server.

Subject: Domino Newbie

Hello all,

We are planning a Domino install to initially use for internal and internet
e-mail. The installation manual says to make the initial server's name the
same as the host name for the AS/400. Currently, our AS/400's host name is
the system name. S10XXXXX. My question is; Will this affect our internet
mail domain name when we start utilizing Domino as an internet mail server?

Thanks,
Mark
