Hi,

I hope you can help me with this..

This issue occurred shortly after my PC crashed and had to be reloaded,
including CODE 400.

I've been unable to use CODE (have gone back to old reliable SEU) and have been
getting the following message repeatedly:

Unable to exchange CODE signature with host
The exchange failed due to a TCP/IP error - Connection reset by peer.
This error is probably caused by the fact that you have not installed the
back-end fix for CODE communications.
Please install one of the following fixes and refer to the README for SP005.
V3R2M0: 5763PW1 SF49534
V3R7M0, V3R1M0: 571PW1 SF49524
V4R2M0: 5769PW1 SF49535

I don't know where to get the fixes to install -- or even where to find the
readme for sp005.

Anybody know how to fix this problem?

Thanks,
Charlie

You may want to ask this on the WDSC list.

I don't think you can install just the RSE and RPG stuff. If you installed
from the DVD, and I'm assuming you did since I don't think you can install from
one CD, then you already have everything installed. The rest of the "disks" in
the package are WDSC on 6 (or maybe 7) CDs, a CD with Code400 stuff that you
need to install if you don't have, or un-installed, the 5.1 stuff. I think
there is also a DB2 personal edition CD, but my package is at work and I'm at
home, so just read the labels carefully.

Somewhere there is a "Technology Preview" WDSC Lite, which trims things down a
bit, but you first, still, have to install the entire WDSC to get the Lite
version available. Search the Midrange WDSC archives for Lite.

Personally, I haven't bothered with Lite because I have enough disk space and
memory both at work and at home to run the full version.

Subject: Installation Question

Hi,
I am in the process of installing version 6.0 of the WebSphere
Development Studio Client for iSeries. A co-worker installed the first
disk and I am doing the same. At this point we only want RSE and the
RPG related stuff. The web stuff in not needed at this time. My
question is, what are all the other disks for? It seems we can bring
things up with just the one disk installed, and the labels on the
other disks seem to be the same thing, just more.
