Hi Dave,

This is the first I heard of this hang.
Autosave files are stored in the <CODE install dir>\tmp directory and have
file names QDSU*.CHK

You may want to clean up all of your old autosave files and here, so that
it takes less time to come up with a new number. The same would be true
of temp files used for downloading (QDSU*.TMP) compile listings
(QDSU*.LST) and compile error event files (QDSU*.EVT)

Whenever you have a hang situation it is a good idea to look in the
communications trace - this is found in <install drive>\Program
Files\IBM\Shared Files\FVDCERRS.LOG

If communications is hanging, then one workaround is to delete the contents
of that directory and respecify your servers and library lists.

As noted yesterday, I've upgraded CODE to 6.0.1. In the past, I've had
occasional slowdowns with Designer when it was saving a checkpoint, but
I've grown resigned to them, and it does eventually come back and let me
continue working. Today, Edit is hanging on an autosave, and after more
than 5 minutes it hasn't come back yet. I haven't seen this happen before,
and I'm wondering if I've just been lucky for the past 6+ years or if this
is a new 'feature'. Thanks for any thoughts.

Dave Shaw
