Hi Greg,

The CRTPF command doesn't have a REPLACE option because this is a database
and you don't want to blow away your data.
But the good news is that there is a CHGPF command which does exactly what
you want.

To use this command you will have to take the following steps.

>From CODE Designer go to the Tools=>Complile=>Prompt...
This will bring up the CODE Program Generator

Type in the label "CHGPF" and the command "CHGPF" and change the Associated
profile to "User defined"

(Embedded image moved to file: pic20675.jpg)

Hit the Add button to add this new user-defined command to the list.
Hit the Options button and change the PGM keyword to FILE
(Embedded image moved to file: pic02480.jpg)
Otherwise you will get
CHGPF PGM(REINHARD/TESTPF) SRCFILE(REINHARD/QDDSSRC) SRCMBR(TESTPF)
CPD0043 Keyword PGM not valid for this command.
CPF0001 Error found on CHGPF command.

Hit submit and the DDS will be compiled and will update your DB.
>From now on simply hitting the Compile toolbar button or Ctrl-Shift-C will
invoke CHGPF for this member.

When you want to do this for a different member, simply prompt the compile
and select the CHGPF label from the list in Program Generator and hit
Submit and it will be remembered for that member as well.

I can't figure out how to get Code Designer to compile a physical file
if it already exists.

If I delete the file first, it will compile just fine, but if I compile
again, it fails because the file exists.

I don't seem to have this problem with display files.

Is there a setting I've missed ? I couldn't find any relevant options
on the compile parameters.
