I have meanwhile found a solution in the archive (thanks go to Paul 
Nicolay): the Belkin driver which is found at 

http://web.belkin.com/support/download/downloaddetails.asp?download=1068&lang=1

It now works like a charm, even in Lotus Not-us.

I had trouble at first too. What I found is that the current driver from 
MS 
does not work, I had to use an older version.

The driver that works for me is Microsoft PS/2 Port Mouse (IntelliPoint) 
4.10.851.0.
