That's what I did. So, for anyone else who does something stupid like this:

Just open an existing PRTF with a relative record defined, and redefine the
Creation Default again.

Thanks, Edmund.

What defaults did you try to set?
Remember, you need to have at least one SKIP or SPACE keyword selected or
you will have an absolute record.

Hi Mark,
Yes there is a way of changing the default in CODE Designer
1) Create a relative record.
2) Go to its properties notebook (F4 or double click)
3) On the second tab which is called 'Position' set the SKIP and SPACE
keywords to the default that you want when you create a new record. Note
that you have to have at least one SKIP or SPACE keyword selected
otherwise it is an absolute record which is a different beast.
4) Go the last tab which is called 'Styles' and select 'Creation defaults'
and push the 'Redefine' button.

Note you can create multiple named styles here and 'Reset' the current
record to that named style.

This is a very powerful feature.

This same feature will help you when you are creating database reference
fields (there is also a Styles tab on the properties). Many people have
not discovered this powerful feature.

Congratulations.

Is there anyway to either edit or turn off the defaults that Code/400
makes
when adding certain elements. Like when adding a record to a printer file,
it assumes a space before and the last field assumes 2 spaces after. I
would like to set my own spacing.

Thanks,

Mark
