Nope, no proxy server.
Uhh...  Unless Norton Antivirus or ZoneAlarm do something weird...?
I'm pretty sure there's no proxy server problem though.

The document referenced below mentioned checking for one and after following
it's instructions (cough, cough), I came to the conclusion that I'm not
using one.

I checked the Internet Options too.  IE 6.0.
