You might try disabling your virus scanner for a couple hours and see if
that improves it.  Check for other scheduled tasks as well, if you have the
authority to do such a thing.  Sometimes I think virus scanners are guilty
of as many problems as viruses.

When it times out, you get an error saying something like the
communications
link is no longer active, and the program crashes.  No chance to save the
work that was done without going the temp work files.


I'm using Windows ME, and have the WDT version with service pack 2
installed.  The AS400 is at v4r5.  It occurs when I use STRCODE and also if
I use the server method of connecting.  Before WDT, it used to only occur
when I was using the server method.

Is there a setting on the AS/400 or the PC to prevent this?
