When compiling in batch, we submit both compiles right away as it was not
possible to wait for the result of the first compile before the second.
If you compile interactively, you will only see the second compile if the
first was successful.

In this case, it would appear that the compiler is placing some type of
intermidiate file in the QTEMP library (something which CODE would have no
control over)
Of course, a file in QTEMP as part of a batch job would not be visible to
the CODE job (in this case your STRCODE job) as it would have its own
QTEMP.

In this case, my recommendation is to compile interactively.

Code/400 V5R1, SP2 installed. OS/400 V5R1. Using a STRCODE server in an
interactive session.


Compiling a SQLRPGLE program with CRTSQLRPGI command. There are no
precompiler errors. But there are compiler errors.


The program is compiled twice--as I recollect this is a workaround until
the pre-compiler is enhanced. However, I suspect that the second compile
should be submitted only if the first one succeeds.


Any idea what is happening?


Here's all that I know.


The error list window comes up with 3 errors. I double click on one so I
can insert them all into the source. I get a window with this:


EVF2062, RC = 291 Object not found for SQLTEMP1.


In the info line at the bottom of the error list window is this message:


Unexpected error opening file '<LENNON$S>QTEMP/QSQLTEMP1(ERB800R5)'


I held the JOBQ to see what was being submitted.


First job:
