Booth,

I've had this problem with Win 95 several times on my old home machine, although
it was usually games rather than Code that I was trying to get to work. The
only thing that ever seemed to clear it up was reinstalling Win 95. I tried
many other things first - one time (out of five, I think) I was able to remove
the product that triggered the problem, run REGCLEAN, and have it straighten
out.

My newer machine has Win 98 on it - haven't had the problem with it, and I have
a LOT more junk installed on it. Would you consider an upgrade? Note that 98
is not a cure-all, I've had lots of problems with it, but never the black-screen
lockup disease. This ThinkPad that I have at work also has Win 98 (and Code, of
course), and is actually reasonably stable (well, for Windoze - I still miss my
OS/2...).

Closing Code/400 or building a VARPG project both stop my computer cold.
C-A-D brings a black screen and immediate reboot.

I completely uninstalled ADTS and it's products, removed ever vestige I
could find of ADTS, it's subdirectories, and it's registry entries. I
then rebooted and reinstalled from scratch, including applying Fix pak2.

The behavior remains the same. The only other software that I have been
changing recently is Lotus Notes.

Any ideas?
