Well one of your options would be to use one of the Open Source email utilities like mail (www.easy400.net) or RPGMail (mowyourlawn.com)

They - and others - provide a direct API interface.

What is a good method of sending email from a COBOL pgm?

I have a SNDEMAIL command with quite a few parms.

Would it be best to:

* Call QCMDEXE to launch the command? or

* SBMJOB the command; or

* Create a CL wrapper for the command and call that (although this seems too complex as the command already has CL behind it).

* Other ideas?

Thanks!
